Social organization Youth Unity For Voluntary Action (YUVA) will organize a workshop against 'Child Marriage" at Tata Steel Zoological Park Information Centre tomorrow on June 10, 2015.

The workshop will begin at 11 a.m.

The workshop would be inaugurated by Mrs. Ranjana Mishra, Director, DRDA. Prominent social activist and a patron of Yuva Jamshedpur, Mr. Bailey Bodhanwala would grace the occasion as guest-of-honour and eminent speaker.
Other eminent personalities who would address the workshop include Mr. Monimoy Sinha, Regional Director, CWSK, eminent lawyer Mrs. Sangeeta Jha, Ms. Chanchala Kumari, District Child Protection Officer, Mrs. Anjali Bose, social activist and Mrs. Prabha Jaiswal, social activist.

It may be mentioned here that child marriage is still an issue in the rural areas of East and West Singhbhum. Owing to different social and economic reasons, children, especially girls, are married off at a tender age. This causes a lot of social problems in the rural areas.

The purpose of the workshop is to highlight the social and economic reasons responsible for this malady and to find out ways to counter this social problem.
