Yuva organizes workshop to discuss IPPE

Jamshedpur: To make MNREGA more effective, a village development plan would be prepared under IPPE, i.e. Intensive Participative Exercise. This information was given today by Barnali Chakraborty, secretary, Yuva in a block level workshop organized by Youth Unity for Voluntary Action (Yuva) in the block premises. Those who attended the workshop included Santosh Kumar, panchayat sevak, Rojgar Sevak, Gram Pradhan and the public representatives of the panchayats.
Yuva’s secretary Barnali Chakraborty said that the IPPE process is being adopted to make MNREGA more effective and to ensure active participation of villagers in the scheme. She said that as a part of IPPE, social mapping, resource mapping, transact plan, plan listing, plan prioritization is being done and a labour budget is being prepared.

In the first year, Yuva would be helping villagers in the plan construction under IPPE in 50 villages spread over six panchayats of Potka. During the second year, the same work would be done in 20 panchayats, while in the third year the same work would be done in all the 50 panchayats.

Abhishek Sardar, Arup Mandal, Chandmani and Mary Sardar gave the participants information about the progress achieved till date.
