Yuva organizes Planning-2015 Workshop in Potka

Jamshedpur: The social organization Youth Unity For Voluntary Action (YUVA) organized a one-day "Yojana Banao Abhiyan ( Planning 2015 Campaign)" at the Meeting Hall at Potka Block Headquarters Premises.

The workshop was organized under MGNREGA CFT Convergence Project.  In all 23 Rojgar Sevaks and 12 CFT employees participated in this workshop. The programme was inaugurated by the Block Program Officer Mr. Santosh Kumar.

Conducting the workshop, Mr. Pramod Kumar, CFT Team Leader said that the CFT Project is an ambitious project of the central government. He said that the Yojana Banao or make plan campaign would start from October 2 next through Gram Sabhas.

He said that the main purpose of the Yojana Banao campaign is preparation of complete plans by villagers according to their own resources, livelihoods and needs.

To enhance the standard of living of the extremely poor families of the village, to select livelihood-based schemes for enhancing the standard of living of extremely poor families, preparing MNREGA Labour Budget for 2016-17 based on the employment needs of the villagers and setting up decentralized employment process in Gram Sabhas and Gram Panchayat are some of the objectives of the project.

The participation of villagers in scheme preparation is very important. Information on different phases of IPPE, e.g. social mapping, resource mapping, transact and other activities was also shared in the workshop.

Abhishek Sardar talked about different tasks that may be taken up under NREGA. HE said that the role of self-help groups and women would be very crucial in preparation of schemes.

He said that during the planning process the un-useful schemes approved earlier by the Gram Sabha would be scrapped.

In the end of the programme, an action plan for panchayat-wise training of the panchayat planning teams was prepared.
