Yuva organizes Integrated Farming Training for women farmers at Darisai in Potka

Jamshedpur: A four-day integrated and sustainable agriculture training programme was organized for the women farmers of Potka at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Darisai, East Singhbhum. The training programme started on October 8 and concluded on October 11, 2012. In all, 30 women farmers took part in the training programme.
Yuva, Jamshedpur has been trying to encourage women farmers of Potka to adopt advanced technology in farming. This project is being run in collaboration with Global Green Grant (GGF).
The scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Darisai guided all the participants during the four-day training programme.

Mr. G Mardi, expert, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Darisai apprised the women farmers with the techniques of kitchen gardening and advanced technology used in agriculture. Dr. Ravindra Mohan Mishra gave tips about animal husbandry, while the programme co-ordinator Arti Bina Ekka highlighted the methods of mushroom farming. Jitendra Kumar took a session on flower production and Bhushan Prasad Singh spoke on vegetable production and multi-cropping.
All the participants expressed satisfaction and said that it was a big learning experience for them.
