Yuva Jamshedpur organizes disaster management training for women farmers in Sidirsai, Potka


Jamshedpur: Social organization Youth Unity For Voluntary Action (Yuva, Jamshedpur) organized a disaster management training for women farmers in Sidirsai village in Potka, East Singhbhum (Jamshedpur) with the help of Global Green Grant Fund (GGF).

The chief trainer Rakesh Kumar said that issues like drought, malnutrition, potable water, pollution, illegal mining, deforestation, rampant urbanization and deep boring etc. were discussed in the training programme. He said that all these issues are important and give rise to many problems if not handled efficiently.

He said that as a human society we have to come up with new ways of survival and to ensure that our livelihood remains unaffected. He stressed on the need to plant more and more trees, sow crops that need less water and to protect the existing green cover. He also emphasized on developing kitchen gardens in all houses.
The program was conducted by Arbind Tiwary, founder member, Yuva. The welcome speech was given by Arup Kumar Mandal, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Khelaram.
