Yuva imparts training in SRI method of paddy production in Chakri


Jamshedpur: The social organization Youth Unity For Voluntary Action (YUVA) organized a training programme based on SRI (System of rice intensification) method of paddy production in Chakri, Potka.
The training programme was organized with the help of Global Green Fund (GGF) and Atma. In all 55 women farmers took active part in the training programme.
The chief guest of the programme was Mr. Kaushal Jha, block technical manager, ATMA, Potka.

Mr. Kaushal Jha informed the participants about the need to have a second green revolution in the country and the amenities provided to the farmers for adopting the SRI method of paddy production.
The trainer Abhishek Sardar said that under this method of paddy production less seeds and less water is needed while the production is much more compared to the traditional method of paddy production.
The trainers apprised the participants with the practical methods of increasing paddy production.
Those who were present on the occasion included Arup Kumar Mandal, Gautam Mandal and Chandmani Sawaiyan.

The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Arbind Tiwary, founder, YUVA, Jamshedpur.
