Yuva celebrates Women’s Day in Seraikella


The well-known social activisit Mrs. Anjali Bose was also felicitated in this programme.
Mrs. Anjali Bose also celebrated her 81st birthday today. More than 150 self-help groups formed under the leadership of Yuva attended the programme. The District Programme Manager Mr. Neeraj Nayan was the chief guest and Manoj Hans was the guest of honour in the programme.
Social organization Youth Unity For Voluntary Action (YUVA) organized Women’s day programme at the conference hall of TCDC, Balrampur. More than 220 representatives of different self-help groups participated in this programme.
It may be mentioned here that Yuva has formed 153 SHGs in 65 villages of five panchayts of Seraikella district.
The district programme manager Mr. Neeraj Nayan inaugurated the programme by lighting a lamp. Barnali chakraborty, secretary, Yuva welcomed the guests and threw light on the developmental activities of Yuva.

The guest of honour, Mr. Manoj Hans, finance officer, JTDS lauded the aims of the programme and said that the self-help groups would also be linked to employment related programmes.
Five active women SHGs and two best workers engaged in the development work under Jharkhand Tribal Empowerment and Livelihood project in five panchayats were also felicitated on the occasion by Yuva. The awards for five best GPEC went to these villages: GSPEC, Baldbandh (Pathanmara Panchayat), GSPEC, Pundu (Itakudar panchayat), GSPEC, Natidih (Pandra panchayat), GSPEC, Sini Sidma (Chhota Dawna Panchayat), GSPEC, Mudkum (Mudkum Panchayat).

The four active workers who were felicitated on the occasion included Lakhan Sardar and Kuni Sardar of village Bundu (Itakudar panchayat) and Wale Purty and Alomani Pruty of village Chemaijudi (Pathanmara Panchayat).
The main attraction of the programe was a Question-Session, in which women were asked questions related to Jharkhand Tribal Empowerment and Livelihood project. The programme was conducted by Usha Sabina Deogam.
Later, Bale Mulu Mahila Samity and Adivasi Sarna Mahila Samity, Dolandih enacted a drama based on freedom from addiction. The drama highlighted the inner strengths of women and showed how women unitedly can fight social evils.
Several other women groups also presented cultural programmes, songs and dance.
A collective Jagriti Geet was also sung by groups under the leadership of social activist Anjali Bose. The programme ended with national anthem.
Those who worked hard to make the programme a grand success included Chandmani Sawaiyan, Shakuntala Hembrom, Sushila Jonko, Seeta Kumari, Arup Mandal, Sambhu Sao, Bahadur Jonko and others.
