Yuva Celebrates 15th Anniversary

Jamshedpur: The 15th foundation anniversary of Yuva (Youth Unity For Voluntary Action) was celebrated today in Yuva Library in Makdampur, Jamshedpur. Yuva's birth anniversary coincides with Swami Vivekanand's birth anniversary. Yuva was founded in 1987 on Swami Vivekanand's birth anniversary. The day is also celebrated as National Youth Day.

A general quiz programme was organized to mark the the occasion. The 3-member team of  Raj Kumar Pandey, Tarun Kumar Pillai and Ajit Singh won the Quiz programme with a comfortable margin. The team of Munna Kumar, Nitish Kumar and Naushad Alam was declared the second best team. The quiz was conducted by Kalichanaran Singh.

The founder members of Yuva, Arbind Tiwary, Kalicharan  and Narendra Kumar garlanded a picture of Swami Vivekanand and inaugurated the foundation day programme by lighting a lamp. Barnali Tiwary, secretary, Yuva gave an outline of oncoming programmes of Yuva and said that Yuva will launch a special academic programme -  "Super-10" - for the students preparing for the recruitment tests organized by Railways, SSC and different banks in February, 2011.

Barnali said that the selection of students for "Super-10" programme would be done through a written test followed by an interview.  The test and the interview would be held in Yuva Library on January 26, 2011.

She said that Yuva would also make special initiatives for the welfare of hawkers and road-side vendors. The detailed programme and the implementation plan is being chalked out.

Those who participated actively in the foundation day programme included Chand Mani Sawaiya, Imani Chakraborty, Shankaracharya, Rakesh Pandey, Deendayal, Ranjit Kumar, Rakesh Ranjan, Saket Kumar, Salomi Barla and Shalini.
