XLRI students come forward to help poor students

Jamshedpur: A group of XLRI students has come forward to help poor students of Makdampur area. They donated books relating to different subjects to Yuva Library in Makdampur. In a programme, organized on the occasion, quiz, debates, career counseling and groups discussions were also held.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest A K Srivastava said that Yuva Library has been helping the local students for te last 15 years. He said that there cannot be a better friend that books.

In her welcome address, Yuva Secretary Barnali Chakravorty said that Yuva Library has contributed a lot in bringing a bout a positive change in the mind-set of youths. She said that several students, who spent hours in Yuva Library, are now working as government and non-government officers, managers and clerks. She said that classes on English and personality development would be held in the library regularly.

After the inauguration session, career counseling and group discussion programmes were held. XLRI students Amit Jindal, Shivendra Sharma, Atishay Jain, Samudyi Malhotra, Sumit Tayal, Ankit Bhatnagar, Yuvraj Singh, Anjali Garg, Remith Paulose, Brajesh Shah and Anshuman Prakash guided the students.

Sumit, Chandman Sawaiyan, Abhishek Sardar, Shalini, Shambhunath Karmkar, Manju and Rakesh Pandey worked hard to make the programme a big success.
