Jamshedpur: A workshop on 'Issues of violence against women' was organized by Jharkhand Resource Centre of CWS with its implementing partner Awakening the Youth Unity For Voluntary Action (YUVA) and Sramajivi Mahila Samity (SMS) on 29th of March 2014 in Natures Education Centre, Tata Steel Zoological Park, Jamshedpur.
The workshop started at 10:00 a.m. and concluded at 2:30 p.m.
The objective of this one day workshop was to share the work and experience of CWS with the other stakeholders working on the same issues at the same time providing other similar like-minded organizations/networks to share their experiences with each and identifying the scope of collaboration.
Ms. D. Kameshwari and Ms. Ranjana Srivastava from DLSA, prominent educationist Ms. Lalita Sarin, Advocate Ms. Sangeeta Jha and Human Rights Activist Mr. Jawaharlal Sharma participated in the workshop.
Ms. Lalita Sarin spoke on the Role of educationalist in Gender awareness to address discrimination in context of youth education; Ms. D. Kameshwari spoke on the Role of DALSA in context of domestic violence, Ms. Sangeeta Jha (Senior Advocate) spoke on the Domestic Violence Act.
Pramukh of Dumariya and Jamshedpur also participated in the workshop and put focus on the role of the PRI representative in minimizing the domestic violence.
In all, 70 participants from different NGOs, PRI members, Shelf Help Group members from Saraikela Kharsawa, East Singhbhum and West Singhbhum.
Mr. Monimoy Sinha & Mr. Himadri Banerjee from CWS, Ms. Barnali Chakraborty from YUVA and Ms. Purbi Pal from Sramjivi Mahila Samity jointly organized the workshop.
